His latest single, “Little Stick of Dynamite,” is a heartfelt tribute to his daughter Grace. Both singles were recorded independently and mixed and mastered by Brian Scheuble, who has worked on recordings by many famous artists, including Dave Matthews, Tom Petty, and Sheryl Crow.

Born and raised in Seattle, Washington, Darren began playing music in middle school, heavily influenced by the local music scene and the acoustic rock genre. He started with the piano, spending much of his time writing songs and experimenting with recording equipment.

After high school, Darren co-founded The Bradbury Press, which performed from 2000 to 2009. Starting at a small pub called Engels in Edmonds, Washington, the band soon began packing notable Seattle venues like the Tractor Tavern and the Showbox, and performed at major festivals such as Bumbershoot and the Seattle Music Fest. The band released three records, including a live album recorded at Seattle’s iconic Crocodile Cafe in 2008. Touring extensively throughout the western and southern United States, The Bradbury Press shared stages with acts like Mike Doughty, The Samples, and Brandi Carlile.

Darren took a leave from performing and moved to Boston to pursue a career in medicine. He is currently practicing as a nurse in San Diego while continuing to write and record music.
